Victor et Victoria

Paris, 1930, enjoying the nightlife… Is she a boy or a girl, Victor or Victoria? A closer look will maybe give you the answer, but does it really matter?

Holding the (VW) Classy Monocle, designed by Redd Columbia for VINTAGEwear.  You can get this monocle by joining the VINTAGEwear Update Group. It comes in a very cute box and has 3 options. A holding position for woman and a holding position for man. And also one for wearing the monocle on your eye.

Jocelyn Anatine: “As you liked the Shutter Shades by [ glow ] Studio Designs so much we have decided to create more sunglasses. Here comes a new collection of eyewear!”

Price range of these glasses is 100 – 230 LD

Grandma’s cordglasses

A sweet memory, sleeping at your grandparents house, sneaking a little bit in your grandma’s closet. Trying her old high heels, hats, jewellery and glasses, hoping she will not enter the room while you are admiring yourself in the mirror. From that moment on, you realise that strong, old designs, vintage, is very  fashionable and sexy when mixed with nowadays looks.

Maybe Vintage McMillan has this same memory. Because you can find a gift package at VINTAGEwear with the (VW) Tortoise Shell Bugeyes Necklace and the (VW) Wayfarer Charm Necklace. The tortoise shell is definitely my favorite, and shown in this picture.

Beside this nice gift you can also find high quality sculpted prim eye-wear at VINTAGEwear.

New release: Dryas and Clothos

This week Koguma Kumaki of Kumaki Glasses Style (K_gs) released new glasses, Clothos and Dryas. Both models are unisex and contain several scripts to make your glasses personal. There are 12 frame and lens colors, 5 different options for transparency for the lenses, make the frame shiny or not. And 2 wearing positions: head or nose. The price of these glasses are 300 LD.

I was happy to receive a copy of these glasses from Koguma to try them myself and I can tell you the quality of these glasses is really good. Well sculpted and the fitting is perfect. My personal favorit of these two is Dryas, but that is just a matter of taste!

Have a shopping trip to Kumaki Glasses Style (K_gs) to try them yourself!

Glasses at Maschienenwerk

MOLINARO VISION - Glass wall Maschienenwerk

::Maschienenwerk:: is a great freebie shop. You can find shapes, skins, tattoos and clothes for man and woman. There is also a big wall with glasses, different styles, reading glasses, sunglasses, for man or for woman. I tried two different ones, ::Maschienenwerk:: Torino_Shades and ::Maschienenwerk:: Jagu_Glasses.

What I really liked is, that you can find  female and male size glasses in the package. Makes the resizing much quicker. Also the glasses have a re-size script to help you even more. Don’t expect that these glasses are very well sculpted glasses with a lot of features. It are basic glasses made out of three prims. But the textures are good, which makes them a nice add to your eye-wear collection and  good accessories for some nice pictures. And thanks to Armin Rickena generosity, it will only cost you a visit to ::Maschienenwerk::

Runway Magazine: Make a spectacle of yourself!

MOLINARO VISION - Article Runway Magazine

In the April 2009 issue of Runway Magazine you can find a nice article about eyewear: “Make a Spectacle of Yourself!“. Written by Kay Fairey and Thalia Jie. Two eye-wear designers are interviewed, Youki Rau of Ottico and MandyMandy Mc Millan of D. Illustrated with fabulous pictures created by Maggie Mahoney.

Sensual woman, curly long hairs and flowers, some ingredients for the masterpieces, the art-nouveau affiches from Alphonse Mucha.

In this tribute to Mucha there is also a role for the K_gs -Free Edition glasses, designed by koguma Kumaki of Kumaki Glasses Style. These high quality sculpted glasses have a femine round design and includes a script for color changing, choosing the transparency of the lenses, disabling the shine and even an animation that pushes the glasses up onto your head. You can find these free glasses at XStreetSL.

MOLINARO VISION - Ad board Lovecraftian MonocleAs a present for Cthulhu Day, Tekeli-li gave out this wonderful monocle.

Cthulhu is a cosmic entity created by horror author H. P. Lovecraft in 1926.

The most detailed descriptions of Cthulhu in “The Call of Cthulhu” are based on statues of the creature. One, constructed by an artist after a series of baleful dreams, is said to have “yielded simultaneous pictures of an octopus, a dragon, and a human caricature…. A pulpy, tentacled head surmounted a grotesque scaly body with rudimentary wings.” Another, recovered by police from a raid on a murderous cult, “represented a monster of vaguely anthropoid outline, but with an octopus-like head whose face was a mass of feelers, a scaly, rubbery-looking body, prodigious claws on hind and fore feet, and long, narrow wings behind.”

Both of these descriptions found at Wikipedia fits the look of the Lovecraftian Monocle by Tekeli-li. The tentacles of the octopus the wings and the eye. Only this monocle is not an ugly creature, but a jewel. It is very well made, with a big attention to little details. With the color script it has many options for the metal, gem, lens and tentacle colors.

Cthulhu was banned by some ancients gods and now he is sleeping on the Pacific Ocean waiting for his return…. I think he has returned, go check it at Tekeli-li!
